I was quite burned out by the end of this last summer. It was part work, part pandemic parenting but I was done in a way that I've never experienced before. I would open my laptop and just stare at the screen like the characters had no meaning. Half the time I would just close it and lay down. I had been flirting with it for many months but it really hit hard in July/August.
The thing that really helped for me was knowing I had control over the situation. Like you, we had enough saved so I could take a long period of time off and my S.O. supported it (maybe start with that). I started taking steps to leave but thought that it would be better to start with a big block of time off. I ended up being able to take ~6 weeks off total from October - today and that helped in a big way. I'm not fully recovered but I'm in a much better place.
I think feeling trapped in a situation is either the main issue or a massive aggravator. Once you discover and accept how much control you truly have, you're able to make better decisions, including GTFO if you need to.
