Germany calls nuclear power 'dangerous,' rejects EU plan
- jpalomaki 5y agoThis is important question, because projects will likely enjoy cheaper funding funding in future if they get labeled as environmentally healthy.
- account4mypc 5y ago> The German government said Monday that it considers nuclear energy dangerous and objects to European Union proposals that would let the technology remain part of the bloc's plans for a climate-friendly future. Why does Germany care if there is an additional option for other countries?
- MrYellowP 5y agoApparently, I guess, they rather have a lasting energy crisis. https://www.google.com/search?q=energy+crisis+europe&oq=energy+crisis+europe&aqs=edge.0.0i512l8.2149j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 https://www.google.com/search?q=energy+crisis+europe&oq=ener...
- panick21_ 5y agoBecause of a rampant anti-nuclear voters that always support everything anti-nuclear and whenever anything with nuclear is mentioned you need to be seen as opposing it, no matter what or where.
- rurban 5y agoBecause nuclear accidents don't stop at the border. And besides nuclear being the most expensive options, it's still not safe, nor a solved problem for futute generations. You just cannot keep going on poisoning the world.

- account4mypc 5y agoi think i agree with "You just cannot keep going on poisoning the world." in spirit.. but doesn't this mean germany should be fighting against new co2 emitting plants rather than making fewer alternatives (and relying on natural gas/imported energy at home?) seems like a case where there are two evils and one is way lesser!
- anfilt 5y agosighs... Why Germany?
- a0-prw 5y agoI guess Germany will continue buying nuclear generated electricity from France, then.
