Mozilla Asks for Donation in Cryptocurrency
- gruez 5y agoObligatory reminder that your donations to "Mozilla" go to Mozilla Foundation, not Mozilla Corporation. That's an important distinction, because Firefox development is done by the latter, not the former. According to their own site Mozilla Foundation's "areas of focus" are: "Rally Citizens", "Connect Leaders", and "Shape the Agenda".
- quickthrower2 5y agoWow that is disingenuous to say the least. They don’t make that distinction on the donation page at all.
- NicoJuicy 5y agoIf you ever heard the quote: > Every program attempts to expand until it can read mail. Those programs which cannot so expand are replaced by ones which can. That was from jwz, the referenced twitter handle. There's also an 'Easter egg' if you go to his site from here: https://www.jwz.org/gruntle/nomo.html https://www.jwz.org/gruntle/nomo.html ( nsfw) Let's say he's not really a fan of HN
- teruakohatu 5y agoDon't link to his site. He clearly does not want visitors from HN.
- cinntaile 5y agoIn that case he'd IP ban everyone that comes from HN instead, no?
- hammyhavoc 5y agoIt seems he does, otherwise he wouldn't have setup a message just for users from it. It sends a very clear message.
- quickthrower2 5y agoThat non-idopotent egg needs a shave
