  I disagree, but it's really up to Linus. I'd expect it'll go in in pieces, after a bit of bikeshedding and a few iterations of archs fixing up compilation (struct task changes mainly).

  It's definitely going to be merged. Of course not in the RFC version, but Molnar didn't work on this for a year in three revisions for it to be thrown away.

    It was already said by the author, that approx ~70% of patches can be applied independently in various part of the source tree. The rest has to be synchronised.

    Just the sheer amount of money and time that could be saved on computing resources in CI processes (i.e. Android or Linux builds) would mean that some companies would be keen to give support to his huge change.
