I don’t think anyone should eat meat, outside of those who cannot survive otherwise. That’s almost nobody though. Any suffering that animals experience by being farmed which is not strictly necessary for survival, is totally unnecessary, and I think unnecessary suffering is wrong, regardless of the species of the victim.
