In British English you first apologise for it: “I’m very sorry, excuse me, would you mind, could you please pass the salt, thank you very much”
- jleahy 5y agoDepends on the dialect, “toss me the f*ing salt, would ya” is also acceptable. (edit: but after writing this I note that ‘would ya’ is a contraction of ‘would you kindly’, so maybe I have defeated my own point)
- spurtrenolds 5y agoSeconded. One would be far more likely to hear "Oi, cunt, the salt" here in Blightly than in the USA.
