It should be noted that the author is John Michael Greer, a person with… interesting viewpoints on science, society and magic (yes, literally magic). Ultimately, any serious analysis of his claims will have to address his absurdly backwards claims on energy and technology. Which is basically that all energy resources are going to run out very soon and technology can’t do anything about it. So at best he is crazy pessimistic, and at worst some kind of doomsday cultist.
