- Someone 5y agoYou can also say it’s about a third of a day of data for CERN (they produce about 90 petabytes of data per year, according to https://home.cern/science/computing/storage https://home.cern/science/computing/storage), but I think you need to express it in human damage. Some people may have lost years of research. Imagine having worked for a Ph.D. for a few years and losing all your data (if you have gigabytes of data, I doubt you’ll push it to GitHub, especially if the university says it is properly backed up)
