Horrible logic. Seatbelts are in the same position. They are mandatory and greatly reduce harm done in an accident. Same thing for the vaccines, you won't die and won't likely be using an ICU bed that other patients need.
Go spread your FUD elsewhere.

- seized 5y agoAnd what is your logic behind that? Is your next statement something like "Restaurants shouldn't be required to follow food prep laws or other laws like refrigeration temperature requirements"?
- Orphis 5y agoWhy? Seatbelts greatly reduce deadly harm for people in the cars and outside of it. There are many occurrences where someone died because the body of a person in a crash who wasn't wearing a seatbelt just crashed into them.
- timbit42 5y agoSeat belts and motorcycle helmets shouldn't be mandatory in countries that don't have public healthcare, but they should be mandatory in countries with public healthcare because everyone else is paying for your medical treatment and seatbelts and helmets reduce the cost of your medical treatment.

Just search for “fired for not wearing seatbelt”, and you’ll find plenty of stories. The reason you can get fired for this is because it’s (1) illegal, (2) unsafe, and (3) a company liability if the company is found to be lax on training.
