I found this trend on tiktok randomly and I have to say it's deeply deeply concerning, the darkest side of social media I've ever seen. While social trends and fads have existed/influenced before but I think people might be underestimating how addictive and pervasive tiktok is, especially to young impressionable minds. There is already an epidemic of anxiety among younger millennials and gen z, I shudder to think what kind of end effects these depersonalization/loss of identity memes can have over the long term.
