Happy New Year HN

  Years just measure a period of something called "time" which we still don't understand fully, in a numerical system invented by humans from a starting point that was arbitrarily chosen. So I don't think years (or new year, for that matter), mean anything special. That said, I do hope that from this moment on, we will see some sanity in all aspects of the human civilization. But then again, hope is a concept which is invented by our human brains to feel good about future events that we cannot control.

    Yes, sanity is grately needed I agree and hope for a more sane period to come. That sanity may be painful at first though, just like applying disinfectant on a wound, it will sting quite a bit at first. Wishing greetings at the turn off the calendar year is just a custom, I don’t take it too seriously myself. For the past couple of years I don’t even stay up for countdown into the new year and the excitement I used to have as a youngster has died down with age. Still, I wish you a happy new 2022
