- NaturalPhallacy 5y agoDoes anyone else always get hit with a captcha from here? Why not use https://archive.org https://archive.org?
- prionassembly 5y agoI think of archive.org as "for important things" and tend to use archive.is etc. to make non-paywalled links. The internet dies if archive.org and wikipedia go down within the same month.
- voisin 5y agoDo you use iCloud’s privacy feature for safari? I have been having this issue ever since I turned that on.
- netizen-936824 5y agoQuite sad. She was almost 100 I have many wonderful memories growing up watching the golden girls. She will be missed
- JudasGoat 5y agoBack in the 1990's there were heroin bags in New York labeled "Betty White". That was a tribute to her fame I suppose. Since then, I would think of drugs when her name came up.
- bitxbitxbitcoin 5y agoJust came across a cannabis strain called Betty White while researching lineage of another strain.
- washadjeffmad 5y agoInteresting drug lore, and it seems it was called "Betty" all the way 75. I wonder which came first, calling it just Betty or Betty White?
- jes 5y agoMy eldest daughter was born in 1985. When my wife went into labor, we drove in my pickup truck to the local hospital. Before she went into active labor in the early hours of the morning, we shared her hospital bed and watched an episode of “The Golden Girls” together. I treasure that sweet memory.
- russellbeattie 5y agoThis is a stupid anecdote, but I'll share it anyways. A while ago, I was scrolling through random old shows that are streaming and thought, "Huh, I haven't actually seen a re-run of the Mary Tyler Moore show in probably 30 years." So I check one out from 1972 - the year I was born, and there's Betty White! I had totally forgotten she was in it! Then I think, wait, how old was she then? 50?? Holy cow. She was older than I am today (49) when I was born. Wow. Mind boggling. I wonder if I'll be around in 2072? So sad to see her pass. But it goes to show the truth of the expression: "100 years: All new people."
- croes 5y agoBetty White was older than sliced bread.
- nabilhat 5y agoIt's literally true! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sliced_bread https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sliced_bread She was also old enough to have been inconvenienced as an adult by the USA's ban on the sale of sliced bread.
- sdenton4 5y agoWe just realized that Betty White was a senior citizen (over 65) for the entirety of my partner's life.
- fareesh 5y agoThank you for being a friend

- sdoering 5y agoMy SO and me are regularly (at least once per year) watch "The Golden Girls" (or better she watches, while I fall asleep too soon). I now - despite sleeping through a lot of episodes have watched the series many times and I still love to visit old friends. I would have wished for her to reach her 100st birthday - and for me to not have this year end with another passing away after 3 members of the family already gone. Stay well out there and let's hope for a better 2022.
- Joesephine64 5y agoa shame it happened so close to her birthday
- jrootabega 5y agoLoved her (and everyone I guess) on Match Game. Watch classic Match Game if you get the opportunity.
- ricardonunez 5y agoOne of my Favorite Betty White jokes is that she never created a Facebook account to connect with friends, she said "At my age if I want to connect with old friends I need a Ouija board".

- zxcvbn4038 5y agoVery awesome that she was doing what she loved until the end, and probably more popular then she had ever been.
- 8bitsrule 5y agoNot many people could say they appeared on a daily TV show in 1949, let alone hosting one! (Betty out-lasted two male co-hosts.)
