This article is a well-written deep dive on parallel performance debugging that ends up identifying the difference being due to how caching is handled on multi-CPU vs single-CPU systems. Thanks to the author for taking time to write up their troubleshooting process description.
- bhauer 5y agoAgreed. I appreciate the author adding the small effort to briefly describe the idiosyncratic pieces (e.g., Rune) in their unique problem space. So often, writers believe their readers all play in a similar problem space. So they elect to leave understanding such idiosyncrasies for the reader to either dig deeper on their own, or self-select out of reading altogether.
