Nintendo existed for nearly one hundred years before they started making video games. Saying that all they did up until then was not successful is ridiculous - you do not run a company for an entire century by not being successful.
- Kranar 5y agoThat's not what the article says. It says that Nintendo tried to pivot away from the playing card business into several other businesses, each of which ended up failing except for electronic toys/video games. Given that Nintendo no longer operates a taxi service, love hotels, or sell instant rice, I would say the article is correct about that statement.
