For some definition of "knows", yes. They don't really "know" a lot about you just because they have saved a lot of searches, they still need to understand what those searches mean. My best friend definitely knows fewer of my searches and buys, and his product recommendations are usually spot on, while the only useful Amazon recommendations I've ever seen were "buy again" for things like tea or soap.
