- fault1 5y agoI think they already do: https://imgur.com/a/7UIFLxT https://imgur.com/a/7UIFLxT Well, the plain text, not the IP, but that should be implicit with how web services work.
- themacguffinman 5y agoI wouldn't say it's obvious to either laymen or technical users, some apps will proxy a web service for the exact reason of hiding user info.

- Gigachad 5y agoTelegram includes google services baked in to the app for things like maps.
- ju-st 5y agoThere is a Telegram-FOSS fork with most Google services removed but the translation feature is not removed (yet?) in the code.
- Anunayj 5y agoalso the content of the translated message is leaked in plain text too?
- whimsicalism 5y agoThat is disclosed
- bencollier49 5y agoOoooh, GDPR?
- Nextgrid 5y agoDo you really expect Telegram to get the GDPR hammer when Google and Facebook are still around and do orders of magnitude worse?
- bencollier49 5y agoEasier target?
- Krasnol 5y agoI doubt users of Telegram care much or they wouldn't use Telegram in the first place.
