Tesla Recalls over 475,000 U.S. Cars on Camera, Trunk Issues
- renewiltord 5y agoBefore I owned a car, I thought a “recall” meant “we’re taking it back! This whole thing is a massive disaster. We should never have made this in the first place”. Turns out it means you schedule a fix at your local service center at the manufacturer’s cost. Now I don’t even know why this is news. My Subaru has had like four or five recalls and now I just have them fixed during routine maintenance.

Yeah, warranty recalls are a norm in the auto Industry. 0: https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/tsla/real-time https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/tsla/real-time

- throwaway0a5e 5y agoThis seems eminently reasonable considering how much time law enforcement vehicles, especially ones dedicated to certain types of enforcement, spend just idling or parked while the officer stands around. Heck, about half the cruisers you see on traffic detail are just running the lights with nobody in the car. Municipal fleets have a lot of use cases that are perfect for EVs, that adoption has been so slow tells you something about how the numbers pencil out.

- chrisseaton 5y agoHow is it possible to comment on the wrong thread? People seem to do this fairly often here. How does it happen?
- throwntoday 5y agoYou open multiple threads from the list in different tabs, click through to read the links, one by one, but select the wrong tab when you're ready to comment.
- chrisseaton 5y agoAh I always assumed it was some strange data race in Arc or something.
