There's QBE (https://c9x.me/compile https://c9x.me/compile). It's tiny compared to LLVM and only does the most impactful optimizations, but it's also much simpler to work with. A small but dedicated community of language builders has gathered around it.
- andrewflnr 5y agoAlso Cranelift, though I personally don't know a lot more about it than its name. IIRC it has some kind of graph-based IR.
