Show HN: Validate startup idea in creative new way raising domain-name funding
- fivelessminutes 5y ago> Post about the project along with the domain-name needed or invest by buying a domain for any project you like in return of 1% stake. ...who is named as the owner on the domain registration?
- hammadn 5y agohmm.. nice point.. the investor would be named as the owner of the domain
- quickthrower2 5y agoNot sure who this would make sense for? For 2 hours work at $5 an hour at a fast food job say anyone can raise the capital they need to buy a domain name. This would be preferable to diluting the business. The kicker is the founder doesn’t own the domain so they now have a real headache if they are successful. I suspect if an idea is not good enough for say a $1M valuation its probably not worth investing in as an angel? You want to inject money to help develop and prove the idea. For such low valuations someone should be buying 100%. If there is nothing to show and no domain name, flip some burgers then register the domain.
- stevenalowe 5y agoSimple domain names cost less than $20. ?
- emteycz 5y agoWhat stops someone from buying that domain name once I publish it on the site?
