  Why wouldn't they? If you assume they're looking for value in exchange for money, they wouldn't care at all how great the deal is for the employee. Location-dependent pay could go side-by-side with wealth-dependent pay. You already have a trust-fund and no college-debt? You only get half what others are making for the same work.
