HN, as in the site ran by a cutthroat venture capitalist firm... and you describe that as progressive?
This is the same VC that funded and financially enabled LendUP, which according to CFPB, was quoted saying "We are shuttering the lending operations of this fintech for repeatedly lying and illegally cheating its customers". https://www.consumerfinance.gov/about-us/newsroom/cfpb-shutters-lending-by-vc-backed-fintech-for-violating-agency-order/ https://www.consumerfinance.gov/about-us/newsroom/cfpb-shutt...
No. A union is progressive. A worker cooperative ala Mondragon is progressive. These are corporate capitalists doing venture capitalist-y things.
- andrew_ 5y agoTake a beat. You're conflating HN with YC. While HN is hosted by YC (moderated and run in some respects by folks who are also YC staff) it is not equal to YC. HN is a forum/news site, and yes, commenters and topics trend towards the progressive. Going off track into anticapitalism is wholly off topic wrt to the OP.
- dang 5y agoCutthroat? That's definitely neither accurate nor fair.
