AIUI, these (or similar) tools were used by some of the piracy groups, but never made public to avoid the keys being revoked.
- Fnoord 5y agoYou can release the tools without the keys. That way, anyone can get the tool, and anyone with a valid key can use the tool.
- Thorrez 5y agoThe content companies can look for differences in how the tools work compared to how a legitimate client works, and block any requests for content that are formatted the way the tools do it.
