- happy-go-lucky 5y agoThe title, as it is, has a factual error. This is the verbatim reproduction of what the smart speaker said: "Plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs."
- tablespoon 5y ago> The title, as it is, has a factual error. It's not a factual error to approximate.

- netizen-936824 5y agoDo people actually take those rules seriously? Pretty sure there was a story on HN recently about governments moving to make robots for killing
- mojomark 5y agoSome people do, some don't. Just like some people obey the "rule" of not to murder, while others don't (including governments). Rules can certainly be broken, and that's not always a bad thing as our understanding of what it means to be alive and free evolves over time. The rule that women shouldn't be allowed to vote in a democracy is a great rule to break, for instance.

Pretty sure there was a story on HN recently about governments moving to make robots for killing Ummm… Asimov's laws of robotics are taken from Science Fiction books, so I'm guessing probably not taken seriously by those people actually building "autonomous killing machines" (modern military)?
