Each to their own, I guess. I was given one for Christmas a couple of years back and within 24 hours it was powered off and in the 'junk drawer'. Some people like home automation and such, and if they're willing to accept the (arguably minimal) potential risks then more power to them. Luckily you and I don't have to use one, at least not yet.
