I checked about 5 stores near me (including 2 CVS stores), and they were all sold out and said they had no idea how to find out where to look. Then I saw a pic on my local subreddit from another CVS about 1 mile further out had a mountain of tests on a table. So the inventory and supply chain problems are deep, in addition to any other issues that may be going on.
