I use three spaces. From left to right, browsing space, then Xcode space and finally gimp and inkscape space. Control and an arrow key moves me to either of the other two. Sadly, Lion doesn't seem to wrap around, so this isn't supported. It's been a while since I tried Lion, maybe I should give it another shot.
