Since I use a phone without Google Play, OSMAND is a godsend (I won't be getting this Android Auto functionality though). I love the fact that I can have as much offline maps as I want as long as I have enough storage space on my phone. I can hike with the phone in airplane mode so I'm not disturbed by calls but I still have a map with me. However it's a complex app, way too many menus / options for my taste. I wish they had a "simple" version. Anyway I'm very grateful to all the people involved in OSMAND and OSM, it helps me a lot.
