- samspenc 5y agoMy prediction is the next country that will go through this in this century will be Communist China. It has stark similarities to Soviet USSR / Russia in the 1980s & 90s, as well as Germany in the 1930s & 40s: a totalitarian regime, increasingly persecuting more of its own people, and openly thumbing its nose at the rest of the world and its own neighbors militarily and economically. I want to clarify that I don't think that China as a country will collapse, but rather that the CCP will lose power as a result of internal and external factors playing out together.
