Not everybody needs to run development server 24/7. Plus, the title and the content of this post is "Replacing a Development VPS with Linux on OSX", and you're suggesting the opposite.

I know what the article says. I'm telling you it's not a good idea, for the reasons listed above. I do run a few local images here and there, but that's only for situations where I don't have access to the internet.
