- siraben 5y agoThe reason that motivated me to run a mailserver is best described as an artisanal choice, not a practical one[0]. After all, I'm running this on a constrained system and certainly don't have ambitious to scale this to corporate scales. Like some other commentors here the point is mostly to learn and have something semi-useful at the same time (I've had some pleasant exchanges over my own email already.) - denton-scratch 5y agoOnce your outbound mail leaves your server, it's destiny is out of your control. And you don't have full transparency into the processes your inbound mail has been subjected to. That's in the nature of email. It's orthogonal to running your own server.
