It surprises me that people can be so cynical about Big Pharma so often, yet in this situation they trust the new technology, believe that the best they can do is a necessary second shot, then a third, and according to an HN link recently, maybe a fourth.
Who is paying for these shots which Big Pharma would like to keep giving forever?
What incentive is there to make any kind of one-shot fix?
The tax payer will find paying for these shots took a lot of money and still have to try and pay back the governmental loans which helped businesses and individuals through this.
I'm not an AV, just FYI.

The tax payer will not find. The lobby is alive and well and the politicians are more than happy to have a second income or a warm place to retire.

If Pfizer had a "one-shot" cure and was sitting on it for reasons of greed, then we would hope that at least one of these people would feel morally compelled to blow the whistle. And regarding the lobby power of big pharma: while this may be true in the USA, they don't have nearly as much political power in europe and other democratic countries where governments put their citizens first, and we see the vaccines being offered in these other countries as well

Pfizer has a one-shot (well 10 pill, if I understand the course of treatment) cure, and they aren't sitting on it.
