Good article, really looking forward to parts [2..) But if it is your software, since you own the licence, can you not simply issue it under different licenses? Unless and until you have contributions from others, my IANAL understanding is that you are free to sell it under a proprietary license AND release it as F/OSS under the licence of your choice. Contributions others make under the GPL cannot be so relicensed without permission from the authos of the contributions, but again, IANAL.
