The lost talks from Linus Torvalds at DECUS'94
- tomcam 5y agoAmazing! From the site: > As I was cleaning my office I found some audio tapes made of Linus' talk, and which I purchased with my own money. Now, to make your present, I had to buy a good audio tape playback machine and capture the audio in Audacity, then produce a digital copy of those tapes, which are listed here. Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the slides, but I am not sure how many slides Linus had. I do not think you will need them.
- dredmorbius 5y agoThe slides for the presentation are available here at the Boston Linux User Group: http://blu.org/meetings/1994/08/ http://blu.org/meetings/1994/08/ The audio is provided by John "Maddog" Hall, one of the critically important early supporters of Linux, while working for Digital.
- scruffyherder 5y agoThanks! I added them to the archive.org backup https://archive.org/details/199405-decusnew-orleans https://archive.org/details/199405-decusnew-orleans I'm still dismayed I only found out about this by accident, and it was hidden behind a Facebook wall. It's very sad to see stuff like this hidden from public view.
