Decentralized Rendering – A crypto solution better than centralized options
- verdverm 5y agoGames and metaverse need this? Have you seen Unreal 5? I cannot see how distributed rendering could support realtime applications. Latencies and costs make this unattainable. This is like other "alt" coins like helium. Hammer in search of nail being shilled by people who don't deeply understand technology.
- ArbVision 5y agoThat's actually not true. This is actually achievable already. I wrote about that misconception here: https://twitter.com/ArbVision/status/1461528245170487300 https://twitter.com/ArbVision/status/1461528245170487300
- verdverm 5y agoAfter using streaming games on a Gigabit connection, I will remain convinced the UX will be subpar compared to local rendering. Beyond the technical side of it, why would I want to pay per second for remote rendering when local is sufficiently good? Is it because rent seeking is good for the operators?
