In the same vane, is the classic article [Evolution of a Haskell programmer](http://www.willamette.edu/~fruehr/haskell/evolution.html http://www.willamette.edu/~fruehr/haskell/evolution.html). Its just the factorial function written in different styles in Haskell, each with very different performance implications.
