- bediger4000 5y agoThe author of this article, Tyler Cowen, purports to be this kind of hard-headed economist that this joke is about: Two economists were out window-shopping. They stop to look at a flashy, expensive sports car in a dealership window. The first economist says, "I really want that car". The second said "No, you don't". Tyler Cowen wants to be that 2nd economist. But strangely, in this article, Cowen acts as the first economist, telling everyone they really want that flashy sports car. No, the USA does not want more people, otherwise we'd have a non-punitive, non-racist immigration system, instead of a system that benefits a few plutocrats.
