There is definitely a difference in the quality of content you consume though, which is a bummer - new language learners don’t know what’s good. I just ran across a YouTube channel [1] which if I had known about it when I was starting Japanese, would have probably prevented me from getting confused about a great deal of things. But there really is no substitute for persistence, regardless of technique.
