In what part of the country do you pay to go to parks?
- seattle_spring 5y agoI'm... Honestly not sure if you're kidding, so I'm not sure how to respond. I don't think there's a single National Park in in the US that had free entry.
- akvadrako 5y agoWell I grew up in NH and went to national parks about once a month without paying. My guess is you're in the west of the country.
- derwiki 5y agoWhich parks? There are very few National Parks in the NE—- Maine is the only place that comes to mind.
- akvadrako 5y agoI was referring to the White Mountain National Forest, though I see now officially it's not a park. Still, in NH the parks are free, they just are run by the state instead of the federal government.
- seattle_spring 5y agoWhich national parks did you go to? You would have had to travel out of state because New Hampshire doesn't have even one.
- derwiki 5y agoMost National Parks, definitely Yellowstone/Yosemite. Some of the more rural ones have self registration and the fee is less. And some National Parks don’t have an entrance fee.
