Well, the battery is actually the most problematic part of the environmental footprint. Repairs/maintenance are very minor on a Tesla. The way we look at it is a family of 3 with a young baby needs a car, we only have one car, and it's the most environmentally friendly one we could get as all cars have some manufacturing overhead. It was also manufactured 60 miles away so the delivery footprint was small too. We're trying our best!
