I know many people, including myself, who do a lot of volunteer work without being Marxists.
The motivation is not money, but to provide a benefit to society or to the people in the immediate vicinity, i.e. to be helpful and to be appreciated.

- Rochus 5y agoIt's not so much generosity, but a social matter of course that people help each other. It's nice to be appreciated. But one usually also benefits from the help of others and shows them appreciation. It actually only becomes generous when you give far more than you receive. As an open source developer, I receive at least as much as I give.
