I thought this was going to be some philosophical, existential question, instead it’s “it takes a lot for a huge civilization to survive”.
But maybe Zion is ready for it? Maybe they’ve been prepping for the last 100 years.
I’d say yes, with one caveat, that they all get the choice to take the red pill or the blue pill. Some people would probably just rather be enslaved and secure, than free with hardship and danger, and it seems wrong to force it on them.
- manofmanysmiles 5y agoI agree. I’d say this is a critical plot point of the movies Morpheus: > You have to understand. Most people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured and so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it. And The Architect > Please. As I was saying, she stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly 99.9% of all test subjects accepted the program, as long as they were given a choice, even if they were only aware of the choice at a near unconscious level. While this answer functioned, it was obviously fundamentally flawed, thus creating the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly, that if left unchecked might threaten the system itself. Ergo, those that refused the program, while a minority, if unchecked, would constitute an escalating probability of disaster.
