The Absurdity of Renting a Car Will No Longer Be Tolerated

- ggm 5y agoFor a brief window the used car yards of Brisbane had 2 year old and 18 month old ex rentals with up to 3 years warranty left, sub 20k milage at ridiculous prices. I came to the yards about a fortnight too late and decided to pay $5k more for 7 years of warranty and no klms bought new . But it was damn close. They simply unloaded an entire two year window of car stock in one hit. Bam. Midrange and smalls, dumped. Mind you across the same period a second hand 4wd probably increased in value: I truly heard of people selling on for more than they paid. 2nd hand car supplies dried up overnight. I have a feeling in part because a normal trickle of ex rentals vehicles hit in a surge and then stopped. If EV were available, an entire market for short klm hire could shift over. Alas, not in Australia.
