- randlet 5y agoYou've likely already read it at this point, but "Endurance: Shackletons Incredible Voyage" by Lansing is an amazing survival story.
- zweiasakura 5y agoFunny how we both gave disclaimers with our recommendations.
- jackfoxy 5y agoSkip the retelling and go straight to the source, South, by Ernest Shackleton.
- zweiasakura 5y agoGiven you like survival stories, I'm guessing you've also read Unbroken. But on the off chance you haven't, definitely check it out!
- serjester 5y agoAppreciate the recommendation, this has been on my wish list forever! Finally pulled the trigger and bought it after your comment.
- sunsetonsaturn 5y agoConsidering that both of you are who you are, I recommend "A miracle in the Andes". Thanks for recommending "438 days" - I'm adding it to my list. And yes, I really enjoyed "Unbroken".

- leobg 5y agoThere’s also “Miracle In the Andes” by Nando X (forgot the surname). And “Adrift” by Callahan (forgot the first name). The latter is one of the few books I read thrice over the years. Combines for me beauty, survival, appreciation for life and our humanness, philosophy and knowledge about our world.
