ROS 1 or 2?

  That makes a big difference. It's almost like a Python 2 vs 3 situation. When I was using Foxy (2) last year, just about all of the material I found online was for 1 - and it doesn't work. It was the classic community shooting itself in the foot, and I sincerely hope that it has improved since then.

    Matches my umpression. ROS2 is run by a much smaller number of "insiders" and highly volatile still. They try to improve everything at once with a big bang, which has lots of good as well as bad sides. To find the right person for coaching, you should be clear which one you want to target, because they are so different.
