FWIW, I have downloaded a couple of games from GOG over the years, both free ones and paid ones, and they send me emails only very rarely. It might be different this time, but their track record so far is pretty good. (Also, I think you can revoke that consent in your account settings, but I haven't looked into that, so it's pure speculation.)
