Why you want to be a game programmer?
- wccrawford 15y agoI think he only thinks of video games as the AAA titles that most people love. Getting into game programming is easy, and your first basic game could be done a month after you learn the basics. You don't need visual artists, sound artists, or any of that to produce your first little game. Granted, that will be a -very- basic game. But it puts you on the road and you can say you actually made something... Which is something that many never get to say. This post seems like it is meant to discourage people from getting into game programming by making it some untouchable elite thing, and it's just not.
- eXpl0it3r 15y agoMaybe I don't know enough about that 'Tech Talks' blog, but normally you link ripped of texts to the source, or when you've the permission, or is written by the author you write a little introduction. It's a 1:1 copy from the following blog: http://all-things-andy-gavin.com/2011/08/29/video-game-programmer-why/ http://all-things-andy-gavin.com/2011/08/29/video-game-progr...
- eXpl0it3r 15y agoSo now he's managed to put a link on the page, after he deleted my comment about what sharing means: --------------------------------------- Then you didn't understand what sharing means... Yeah you got the views for your ads on the left and you're happy with it, BUT what does the original writer get for your pos here? Right nothing. You don't even mention where it comes from and who's the real author. Also the reader won't be clicking around on the website of the auther and maybe if he's lucky buy something. When I read the original post, I browsed through the whole website and got to know more about the author... So when you want to share, then share a link! No it won't give you money for your ads, but respect from the readers, otherwise you'll lose that... ---------------------------------------
- agavin 15y agoUh yeah. This is the original author, and Tech Talks shouldn't be posting my entire copyrighted text (even if I give it away -- which I do) without permission. I have no problem if someone does a little introduction or comment, and then a couple lifted paragraphs, then links to the original, but to copy it wholesale with no/little attribution is plagiarism.
- agavin 15y agoI posted a comment complaining about his intellectual property theft (of my work) and he deletes it. LOL
