Whats the point of even reading these articles? I saw one yesterday that literally said there is no proof it is less deadly. Everything is conflicting.

- tinus_hn 5y agoThat person a has no proof either way and person b has proof pointing in a certain direction is not contradictory.
- tragictrash 5y agoYou just need to use common sense. Its pretty obvious this article is more interested in getting your attention than informing you. Look at the headline. Look at their sources. I have a friend that repeats narratives adjacent to right wing conspiracy theories sometimes. I always call him out on it and correct him. The last instance of this was the vaccine mandate. The right-wing narrative conveniently leaves out the testing alternative to vaccination. I simply told him the complete story and we went and looked up the policy on whitehouse.gov. This time, and a lot of the times after I correct him says the same thing you ended your comment with. Something like "There's so much conflicting info how do I know what to believe". The triggering part of this is that him and apparently most of the population of the United States would rather throw up their hands and say I'm confused than look it up.
- buddhistdude 5y agoAt least your buddy admits that they were misinformed. Some of my friends just move on as if nothing happened after I point out their distortions. They just repeat the same thing that they’ve just agreed in being false. Then I give up usually. People seem so mechanical sometimes
