I have a simple machine with a milk-frother that has lasted 5 years so far, you don't have to worry about bean storage and grinding, you can choose different beans for every cup you make, and it makes an absolutely consistent cup of coffee.
It might only be 95% as good as doing it all yourself, but it's only 5% of the effort required and that's a tradeoff that has made this problem "solved" for me.

Ordered an espresso after dinner and, unlike some espressos from other restaurants, it was very decent. Upon repeat visits, time after time, it didn’t disappoint. Good and consistent. More consistent than some coffee houses! Granted, it’s not as good as my favorite coffee house, which is nothing short of a sublime experience, and I still pull shots manually with good fresh coffee, but that’s more about experimentation and trying new coffees. For good, consistent and ridiculously easy coffee, it’s hard to beat Nespresso.
