200Mbps from a Starlink terminal mounted to a ModelX while driving at 100km/h
- LinuxBender 5y ago100km/h for how many kilometers? How many satellite hand-offs occurred? Packet loss / Jitter? Can this test be run again for a long distance and measure packet loss, jitter, latency? How many TCP resets? They talk about a 30km coverage, but was this a continuous test for that distance and were they doing 100km/h the whole time? I would prefer people not use Twitter for this. A write-up on a website with graphs or stats would be much easier to infer how the tests were performed. Data from nuttcp or iperf3 + nstat would be useful in addition to number of satellite hand-offs that occurred. nstat can show the number of restransmits, lost packets, some congestion stats, etc...
- impendingchange 5y agoWhat if they just said their YT video played great?
- LinuxBender 5y agoI believe that has already been covered by some of the recent demos. That doesn't really cover use-cases like VoIP, zoom conferences, slack/discord, SSH, strategic commands given to soldiers / aircraft / tanks / drones.
