My father was the first one to migrate to the States pursuing academia because he found that it was a path he couldn't pursue to a degree of his liking in our country of birth. Having said that, I chose option b as an alternative wasn't necessarily present that I felt was close to my situation. At 15, 4 years after his initial migration, I moved to the States.
